I know the profile is tricky sometimes, but you did a great job. The eye is especially well done. The movement in the hair is spot on as well.
As far as the technique is concerned, I think it is working pretty well actually. The one thing you can do next time you're hatching like this is to bend the hatch lines around the form on the face. Think as though you're sculpting a face. If the lines curve following the cheekbones, chin, forehead, etc, it will add even more dimension to the piece. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces.  reports, 1d 18h agoThis newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and *Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. |
